Aberdeen School of Shiatsu teaches a full 3 year professional training in Shiatsu and introductory classes. The training is divided into 4 courses so you can study as much as you want. The first part of the course is The Living in Harmony Course which has its emphasis on the practical skills of Shiatsu and ways you can improve your health. We explore the theory of Shiatsu and learn the Shiatsu meridians and points to help common conditions.
For those wishing to continue their training in Shiatsu the 1st year Living in Harmony Completion Course follows the Living in Harmony Course; this is followed by the 2nd and 3rd Years both of these include a 4 day residential.
We aim to keep a strong focus on the practical throughout the course even when doing anatomy, physiology and pathology. As a small school we are able to adapt to any special needs to help everyone achieve as much as they can. Shiatsu will give you a greater sense of awareness and offers many ways to improve your own health and well-being, including a tool-kit of alternative first aid points for use on family and friends and a wide range of dietary and general recommendations for health and well-being that are specific to individuals.
Shiatsu is not just a treatment done to others; growth work and self exploration are an essential part of your development and allow you to be fully present when you work on someone. We teach 5 element style in the 1st year and Zen Shiatsu in the 2nd year and explore Traditional Chinese Medicine in the 3rd year
Our 3 year Shiatsu Diploma is ratified by the Shiatsu Society and accredited by Laser Learning at L4 on the RQF (England)
