The Northern School of Shiatsu celebrated their 25-year anniversary last year.

We are committed to providing a person-centred, student-led approach to our training courses regardless of whether you want to become a practitioner or are doing it for self-development.

We offer a range of courses from one-day tasters, three-weekend foundation courses, through to the three-year Diploma in Shiatsu, which is ratified by the Shiatsu Society. We are accredited by Laser Learning, an external awarding body, to a Level 4 standard.

Our one-year Holistic Acupressure Certificate is a professional qualification which enables you to offer relaxing treatments within the limits of your knowledge and experience.

Our course is Zen Shiatsu based but we include the Chinese Theory of the Five Elements as part of the Acupressure Certificate.

You do not need any prior learning or experience to join the taster day or the foundation course (which is a stand-alone course or the first part of the Certificate course if you choose to carry on). Course notes are provided, and we aim to make anatomy and physiology fun to learn!
